Frequently asked questions

  • Our trips are led directly by our expert guide, Samer, who takes care of everything from start to finish. He captures spectacular photos of you (if you wish), ensures your safety and understanding during the workshops, and keeps the atmosphere positive so you can fully enjoy your adventure.

After the trip, we’ll provide you with a digital collection of photos and videos. You’ll receive an email recap with all the images and clips we took of you — ready to share with your friends and family. ✨

  • It will be cold in Yellowknife — and since we’ll be doing astrophotography, we won’t be moving much. Be prepared and bring proper cold-weather clothing.
We recommend a layered system: two pairs of gloves, a warm hat/toque, insulated boots, thermal base layers, a down jacket, a waterproof shell, a face/neck cover, a headlamp with a red light, and hand/foot warmers — and don’t forget your amazing energy! ✨
Note: It’s also possible to rent winter clothing at Aurora Village.

    Equipment:
We recommend using a DSLR or mirrorless camera with a fast wide-angle lens. A fast lens lets in more light — look for an aperture of f/1.4 to f/2.8. Bring a tripod, a remote trigger or intervalometer so your camera can shoot automatically, plus extra batteries and memory cards.

  • All our events are designed for every level — even if you have no photography experience at all, you’ll still fully enjoy our outings. Especially on trips like this one, where we spend a lot of time together, we take note of all your questions and make sure to answer them throughout the journey.

  • Absolutely! Most of our aurora sessions take place right next to the vehicles, with very little walking involved. We don’t have any hikes planned, apart from short walks around Yellowknife.

  • No hikes are officially planned, but we encourage you to explore and enjoy a short hike in the area if you wish.
Contact us — we’ll be happy to help you plan a beautiful local walk during your stay.

  • Yes — car rental in the region is quite expensive, but it’s included in the package.
If the rental company charges us extra for additional kilometers, we’ll simply split that cost among the group.

You also have the option to rent your own vehicle if you prefer.
Our goal is to minimize car use as much as possible — both to reduce costs and to protect the environment. 🌍

  • March is the best time to visit for the aurora, and it will be cold — temperatures usually range between 0°C and -25°C.

  • We understand that unexpected situations can arise, and for that reason, we always aim to be as understanding and flexible as possible. We truly want to accommodate everyone as best we can.

However, cancellations do generate costs on our end since reservations are made in advance. For this reason, we’re unable to offer full refunds. Here’s how our policy works:

    • The deposit is non-refundable.

    • 30 days or more before the trip start date: 50% of the trip cost (after the deposit) is non-refundable.

    • Less than 30 days before departure: unfortunately, no refund can be offered.

    Thank you for your understanding

  • While this is extremely unlikely, Zenderfull reserves the right to cancel the trip at any time and for any reason, at its sole discretion (including, but not limited to, not reaching the minimum number of participants required for the trip).

Notwithstanding the above, in the very unlikely event that the cancellation is for reasons within Zenderfull’s control, all deposits, trip fees, or other payments made by you to Zenderfull will be fully refunded as a fair estimate of damages.

By joining, you agree not to pursue any further claims or remedies against Zenderfull, its directors, officers, agents, representatives, or employees.

Zenderfull will not be liable for any indirect or consequential damages, including flight change or cancellation fees, or any other associated travel costs or related losses.

  • Of course, you have two options to reach us:

    1. Book a call with us using [this link]

    2. Or contact us by email at info@zenderfull.com

We’ll be happy to answer any other questions you may have! 🌌

  • I’m working on organizing two trips per year to Yellowknife — one in March and another in autumn.

I recommend staying in Yellowknife for at least one full week to maximize your chances of seeing the aurora.

For example, you can choose to arrive before our tour begins or stay a few days after it ends to enjoy even more northern magic. 🌌

  • Yellowknife offers incredible winter experiences, such as the Snowking Winter Festival, ice fishing, snowmobiling, winter hiking, and sauna or cold plunge sessions. ❄️🔥

I can recommend specific activities based on your interests and preferences — and I can tell you one thing for sure: I won’t be leaving my running gear behind! 🏃‍♂️🌌

  • In addition to your ticket for my guiding services, you’ll need to plan for:

    ✈️ Flight: between $600 and $1,000
    🏠 Airbnb/Hotel: between $500 and $1,000
🍽️ Food: average restaurant meal around $25 per person

Overall, the total estimated cost of the trip typically ranges between $3,500 and $5,000 CAD.
