This year, conditions are ideal: a waning crescent moon (~15%) that rises after midnight, dark and clear skies, and up to 120 shooting stars per hour! 🌌
The moon (~15% illuminated) won’t rise until after midnight, leaving the sky perfectly dark to enjoy the spectacle. The constellation Gemini appears in the east around 8 p.m., and the meteors increase in frequency as the night progresses — peaking around 2 a.m.
And if luck is on our side… we might even catch a glimpse of an aurora borealis, a rare but sometimes visible phenomenon at this time of year. 💫
We’ll leave the city lights behind to reconnect with nature, admire the night sky, and learn night photography techniques.
